Squash involves two players sharing the same space whilst thwacking a rubber ball around a court – playing with a beginner therefore usually involves trying to avoid being hit with a racket at least once during a session. Despite that, squash is a whole load of fun and there’s no using the weather as an excuse not to give it a go…
Squash is one of those sports that can really get the blood pumping. At international level, the game is an action pact spectator sport played at incredible speeds. Thankfully, you don’t have to be that pacey, or that fit, to have a try and see if it might be for you. There are courts available in leisure and community centres throughout Wales and many local clubs have leagues and coaching as well as an active social side.
Squash Wales is the governing body of the sport within Wales. You’ll find loads of info about the game and about getting involved on their website.
