One of the biggest sports in Wales, that’s for sure! Get involved…
Rugby Union in Wales has been on the march over recent years. Not since the ‘glory years’ of the 1970s has Wales had so much success. The Grand Slam is seen as a realistic aim before each six nations these days and the Welsh regional teams are some of the finest in Europe. What’s next for Welsh rugby? The holy grail of the Rugby World Cup is the hope at international level and a European title is the goal for the regions.
Rugby is played in a larger percentage of schools in Wales than the other home nations. In addition, there are loads of local rugby clubs – some set up as just youth teams, some with different teams at lots of age groups, from under 9s to adult. If you want to get involved in Rugby in Wales, there really isn’t much of an excuse not to!
