Wales has produced some the world’s finest disabled sports men and women…
Wales has long had a reputation for producing some of the world’s finest disabled athletes. On the back of that success, the promotion and participation in sport for disabled people in Wales has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
There are many different sports clubs and groups across Wales for disabled people. These may be in a pan disability (any disability), disability specific or integrated (disabled and non disabled participants) settings.
Whether you want to try a new sport, find some coaching, get involved in a local or national league, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Whatever your sporting interest or sporting aims, if you’re looking for info, head to the Disability Sport Wales website. Not only does it contain sporting calenders, uptodate news and info on volunteering and coaching, it has a databse of local clubs and organisations on just about every sport played in Wales. The Disability Sport Wales
National Development Programme is aimed at developing quality community based sporting and recreational opportunities for disabled people throughout Wales.
The programme is promoted and delivered through a network of Disability Sport Wales Development Officers located across every Local Authority in Wales.
