What services does your agency offer?
Arrest Referral is an intervention that seeks to put a detainee in police cells in contact with GAR worker who will be able to give advice regarding their drug/alcohol use or indeed if necessary, facilitate contact with specialist Substance Misuse Support Services/ Specialist Alcohol Service.

The service is available to anyone who is in custody or has been arrested.
What age range of clients does your agency provide a service to?
Service is available to all age groups.
Which geographical areas within Newport does your agency operate?
Covers the whole of Gwent Police Area which includes all areas of Newport.
What happens when someone first contacts you?
Detainees will be offered the opportunity to see a GAR worker for an initial interview/assessment. Detainees will then be offered appropriate advice/support to facilitate contact into a appropriate service/project.
