GHB has effects very similar to alcohol. GHB is invisible when dissolved in a liquid and has no smell.
It has a very slight salty taste but you would not notice it in a drink.
At low doses, GHB can cause a state of euphoria, increased sociability and intoxication. This kind of use is particularly common at rave parties.
At higher doses, GHB may induce nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, agitation, visual disturbances, depressed breathing, amnesia and unconsciousness.
The effects of GHB can last from 1.5 to 3 hours, or even longer if large doses have been consumed or if it is mixed with alcohol.
It can be very dangerous as the concentration is difficult to judge especially when dissolved in water. In some countries (e.g. USA) it is banned due to the dangers.
