We’ve added loads of info pages on individual drugs…
You could run through the alphabet and there’d be a different type of illegal drug for each letter – more than one for most letters. The range of drugs being bought, sold and taken illegally in Wales is very broad. In addition, the range of drugs available doesn’t stand still – new substances are developed and become part of the illegal market. Some become ‘legal highs’ before been banned.
It’s important to remember that although a drug might be called a certain thing, that doesn’t mean that’s what it is. Lots of drugs are sold as one thing but are really a mixture of chemicals and additives used to bulk up the drug it claims to be. That means taking drugs is a gamble in more ways than one.
The UK government classifies illegal drugs into three classes – class A, B and C – to reflect how dangerous they are. However, Class A drugs are the most dangerous, all illegal drugs carry very real risks. Avoiding illegal drugs is always the best strategy.
Some ‘Legal Highs’ carry as many dangers as illegal drugs – indeed many legal highs are banned by the governement when enough information has been gathered about their dangers and risks.
In this section you’ll find lots of info on different types of drugs, so you know what they are and what the dangers are – see the links on the right ->
