Each of the classes carry different penalties for possession and for dealing.
The main legislation on drugs in the UK is called the Misuse of Drugs Act. Using or dealing any of the drugs listed below is illegal.
Class A
Ecstasy, LSD, heroin, cocaine, crack, magic mushrooms, amphetamines (if prepared for injection).
Class B
Amphetamines, Cannabis, Methylphenidate (Ritalin), Pholcodine.
Class C
Tranquilisers, some painkillers, Gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), Ketamine.
