Discrimination laws have been extended in recent years to cover issues relating to ageā¦
Age discrimination laws are there to protect you against policies and practices that might lessen your chances of getting a job, promotion or training as a result of your age. They also offer protection from harassment due to your age.
All aspects of employment and prospective employment are covered by age discrimination legislation. However, there are some exemptions, depending on the circumstances.
If you would like to talk to someone about any kind of age discrimination or harassment that you have experienced or witnessed, it’s important to know that there are people out there for you to contact. You may wish to talk to a friend, a family member, a teacher or head teacher. You can also get confidential advice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission Helpline Wales at 0845 604 8810.
